Ultimate Video Converter

I believe I’ve found the best video converter software around today.

I have three video cameras, a Flip Ultra, a Sony, and a Panasonic. They output their videos in three different formats – .mpg, .avi, and .vob – so naturally, I want to convert videos on my PC to different formats. In addition, I have many videos on my PC that I’ve downloaded from around the web in other formats, like .mov (QuickTime), .rm (RealMedia) and Divx, among others.

I’ve also come to like the .mp4 format (MPEG-4) in recent times because it seems to be not only a high-quality format with a small(er) file size, but it lends itself well to sharing and uploading to sites like YouTube and others. It’s also the perfect format for uploading to Amazon Web Services S3, which I use to host many of the videos I put up. It’s reliable and cheap, and doesn’t use my hosting bandwidth.

Needless to say, I’ve long needed a no-compromise video converter that produces high-quality converted videos from the multitude of files I have, or may yet come across. I’ve had some programs that handle some, but not all, formats – .avi and .mpg were no problem, but they lacked .vob or QuickTime capabilities. Or they handled those, but not others. And output quality was always in question. I was never really satisfied with the results.

Well, problem solved at last. iShareSoft’s Video Converter Ultimate seems to be able to handle it all, without breaking a sweat. Watch the video for a bit more information, then DOWNLOAD YOUR FREE TRIAL.

Twitter Automation?

You all know I’m not a fan of automating Twitter.

For those who might not know, I do Twitter. I’m goldtrail49. You’re welcome to follow me :-) Those who’ve followed me there know I really hate “automating” the whole process. Twitter is, after all, a social network – the keyword being “social.”

So, I am having a really hard time coming up with the words for this post. You see, in my quest to find good, and valuable software, I came across something that does, in fact, automate Twitter. And damned if it didn’t work. I’m beside myself.

Now I know that up to this point this blog has been primarily about downloadable software in the vein of tools and utilities for computer users. But value is value, and sometimes I have to think outside the box. I am, after all, a marketer (I hope to earn some money if I can encourage people to click my affiliate links to products I recommend).

As such, I’m also always on the lookout for something that might help me market better, more efficiently and, (ahem) more profitably.

Still with me?

Good.

I just came across a product called Twitollower. You might or might not have heard of it. If you’re not into Twitter, then it won’t matter. But if you are, then read on.

The sales “page” for Twitollower is pure hype. Honestly. It’s an almost hour-long video with the most ludicrously hyper narration I’ve heard in a long time. In fact, the first two times I got roped into following a link to it, I shut it down in the first 5 – 10 minutes. But I finally went the distance, and decided to give it a try. After all, with the money-back guarantee and all, I figured I could give it a month, if only to prove it all a hoax.

It’s not. At least not so far.

To test, I opened a brand new Twitter account at the same time I opened my Twitollower account. It’s actually recommended that you do so, in fact. I opened that new Twitter account on Friday, Feb. 5 at approximately 3 pm Pacific Time.

As I write this, about 11:00 pm Pacific Time, Monday Feb. 8, I already have 582 followers, and I’ve only made 8 tweets. Do the math: Near 600 followers in 80 hours. You could say, roughly 200 followers a day.

Now, just so you’ll know… the majority of these are actually “targeted” followers. Not random (for the most part), but most of whom are actually interested in the niche I set up my new account for. It’s not perfect, but it’s close. The operators of Twitollower are still perfecting the algorhythms and invite all input.

I know, I’m getting long here. Not really my style. I’m going to give you the link to the same video sales page I saw. You don’t have to watch it all. But there *may* be a special deal at the end. There were supposed to be only a limited number that could get it – another sales tactic I don’t care for normally. But even if it is a higher price, it’s worth a spin. With a money-back guarantee, if it doesn’t do what you’d hoped, you’re not out.

It surprised the heck out of me. Here’s the link:

The choice is yours. Comment if you like :-)

Oh, by the way… there’s another pretty cool piece of software (a WP Plugin) that you get with this program. I’m finding that works pretty well, too.

Testing New Software

I am currently testing some new software apps, and hope to have some new info for you shortly.

Two are video conversion programs, both of which I think are handy. Another is a desktop software creator. As you know, I hesitate to post a lot of blather about things that I don’t believe in. So I ask that you be patient while I test these out.

In the meantime, is there anything you’re particularly interested in that I might be able to report on? Please comment and let me know.

Updating This Blog

I don’t update this blog on a daily, or even weekly basis. The reason(s) is/are simple.

First, I don’t use any automation. Many bloggers do… usingĀ  feeds, plug-ins and other software to increase their exposure and, subsequently, search engine rankings

I would really rather believe that people who visit this blog, and even subscribe (thank you!) do so because there is something here of value to them. I’d rather have a small audience of loyal readers than some phony flood of traffic “curiosity seekers.”

I don’t blatantly post links to products simply because I could make a commission if you buy them. Frankly, the 10 – 20% I may get is hardly worth it.

I search out products I think can benefit me, and IF they do, I pass on a link to you. You’re not obligated to click that link. It’s up to you. Heck, if you use search engines, you can probably find a direct link to the product, bypassing me altogether.

So why bother?

First, it’s kinda fun. Even if it weren’t, I have a need to pass on what I know works for me. It may be nothing more than a need to communicate, a need to talk. It’s basic human nature, I guess.

As far as updating this blog is concerned, I’m not going to blather away just for the sake of updating. I’ll post when I know something. Google be damned. This is (I hope) YOUR blog.

Never fear to tell me what you thnk.

Marketing and Advertising Banners

If you’re advertising and/or marketing online, you need a fast, easy and inexpensive way to create banners for websites.

I’ve been an affiliate marketer online for almost 10 years. I work with some of the best affiliate networks out there. Most vendors provide their own advertising materials, including banner ads. They’re very well done, and proven to convert.

But sometimes, perhaps often, you need to brand yourself along with the product branding. You want people to know they’re not necessarily just being “transported” to some manufacturer’s landing page, but that YOU support that manufacturer and the product you’re recommending.

You need a personal touch. You need your own advertisement!

I’ve been using this program since it was V5, back in 2005 or so. It’s come a long way, and I’m still using it. The features not covered in the video are phenomenal. You can animate your graphics in 3 different ways. Add images from your own collection. Create virtually any size graphic you need. You have to see it to believe it. You have to try it to know it.
